Fairfield Police Say They Are Looking For Fifth Suspect in Teen's Murder

Fairfield Police detective Doug Day tells Local 12 that officers are looking for a fifth suspect in the weekend shooting death of a teen-but police say it's too early to release that person's name or where they might be located.

Meanwhile, a tip from an informant gave Fairfield police the break they need in a teen's murder. Now four suspects are charged in the shooting death of 19 year old Julian Slaven. A judge has ordered three of them held without bail.

Local 12 News Reporter Angenette Levy was in Fairfield court on Tuesday- and spoke with Slaven's friends, family and police about the case.

Fairfield police say Julian Slaven was shot to death on Saturday night at his mother's home - in a drug deal gone bad. But, Slaven's friends disputed that after three of the people charged in his murder appeared in court.

Slaven's mother Tammy was among those who packed the courtroom... as Jerry Eacholes, Christia Frymire and Misty Williams made their first court appearance. The three - along with Joseph Goodin - who turned himself in Tuesday afternoon - are charged with aggravated murder in Slaven's death.

Officer Doug Day: "It was a drug deal gone bad unfortunately it ended up with Mr. Slaven being shot."

Fairfield police say Williams and Frymire told them they went to Slaven's home  with Eacholes and Goodin to buy drugs and something went wrong. But Slaven's friends don't believe the killing was about drugs. Elissa Peters tells Local 12,  "This was a robbery and there was intent and that's all I have to say."

Meanwhile, Slaven's twin sister says the two women charged in the case are not strangers. Her family is heartbroken over the loss of Julian - who they described as kind and generous. Taylor Slaven says, "We grew up with both those girls. They were in our grade. They always were friends with Julian and of course they're greedy and selfish and decided they had no heart."

Julian's mother says,  "He would have given the shirt off his back for anyone and there was no need for anyone to do this to him."

Fairfield police aren't saying who actually pulled the trigger. That information could come out next week during a preliminary hearing. 

Fairfield police say they have executed search warrants at Slaven's home when he faced minor marijuana charges. Slaven was currently facing a felony drug possession charge and was scheduled to appear in court this week.
