A local woman's purse is stolen, while she sits inside her church.
Joni Bailey said she was inside Saint Barbara Church in Independence last Wednesday evening when someone came inside and told her a couple of cars had been broken into. The cars were parked in the church lot. The other victim was watching a baseball game at nearby fields.
Bailey locked her vehicle, but left her purse in the car."I left it on my passenger seat but my windows are tinted so darK i didn't think somebody would be looking in to see what was in my car."
The thief broke out the passenger side window, and took the purse. Bailey says within an hour and a half the crook had used her credit card nine times. Investigators remind people to remove valuables from their vehicles, do not try to hide them. Crooks may be watching you get out of your car.
Batavia police are reminding residents, to lock your doors, and close your garages. The reminder comes after a few houses were broken into on the east side of the township. Investigators say the crooks are stealing from open garages and unlocked cars. One time the suspects struck while a family was home. Luckily there was no confrontation, and no one was injured. Police say if you notice anything suspicious call them immediately.
Someone is putting holes in the fuel tanks of U-haul trucks, stealing the gas. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident at the Anderson Township U-haul on Beechmont Cenue. Three U-haul trucks were damaged at that location late last month. Remember just last week we told you about the incident at Holman Motors in Union Township, Clermont County. There, someone drilled holes in the gas tank of a truck on the lot, sparking a fire. The flames destroyed the vehicle,, and damaged the truck next to it. Suspects are still wanted in this case as well.
