Flames which heavily damage a Corryville bar on Wednesday morning may have the result of arson, according to investigators.
The officials cause of the fire at The Upper Room Bar and Grill is not yet determined but investigators say the fact that the electricity was cut to the bar, and the fact that a police officer in the area heard several small explosions before spotting smoke, makes they suspicious.
The blaze caused about $100,000 worth of damage. It happened at the bar on Jefferson Avenue just after 3:30am. A total of 44 firefighters were needed to extinguish the fire.
The district chief says a second alarm had to be called because the fire had advanced into hidden voids of the building.
No one was hurt in the fire.
