ted2521"According to Republicans, I should just go curl up and die somewhere because I can't work." I'm skeptical. Give a source quote and link. You claim your healthcare costs have gone down since Obama has been in office. The fact is Obama froze Social Security. The Obama administration vastly underestimates inflation and cost-of-living figures. So benefits like Social Security, VA, have all fallen behind. Because of the changes Obama has made, less medicine is covered, so we have to pay more. Because of Obamacare, brand names are no longer covered, so we either have to pay out-of-pocket, or settle for generics that are less reliable. Some drugs are no longer covered at all, so we have to pay out-of-pocket or do without. Since Obamacare, more things have to be paid out of pocket for a doctors visit, or a hospital stay. Since Obama took office, the Obama administration has made changes so less tests are covered. Since Obama took office, it's much harder to find a Docter that will take Medicare, Medicaid, or other government associated policies. I'm also disabled, so I know that what you say is not true. Obama and Democrats are killing people. You are supporting murder. If anything the Democrats are the biggest danger to this country and the world. Just look at what Obama's policies did to the Middle East and the Gulf of Mexico. Just look at what Obama's policies did to Solyndra, Amonix Solar, Solar Trust of America, Bright Source, LSP Energy, Energy Conversion Devices, Abound Solar, SunPower, Beacon Power, Ecotality, A123 Solar, UniSolar, Azure Dynamics, Evergreen Solar, Ener1, etc... A few companies that Obama/Democrats have been in bed with but have failed or are failing. Obama is a failure. Democrats are failures. Yet you want to keep repeating the same mistakes.

That's a good thing ted2521, but you also attacked my political beliefs and said..."The Republicans are the greatest danger this country has ever faced. They are out to destroy the lives of the working class, the poor, the elderly, and hand over this country to the corporations and the Chinese." A democrat(NAFTA)did that...sent our jobs to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, others and China! Corporations...they saw lower costs, and they didn't see how much more it has cost them in the quality of their product. You also said..."Republicans are intolerant, jesus freaks, gun crazy, big business tycoons, who are selfish and greedy." Really? Who's profiling here, and based on what? I am not a jesus freak, gun crazy, or a big business tycoon, and I'm not a selfish or greedy person. This country and people survive because of it's businesses and corporations...small and large. I do not feel that democrats, and over-the-top liberal programs equal the field. It just drives down the middle class. I feel for your situation, but you will receive your long earned disability payment (tax taken at that)...I feel that's wrong too...it was money you paid into as a tax while you were working. Look, we need to make America and it's business strong again. Obama is for perpetuating oppressing folks, and you're not paying attention to the monies we are paying for all of Obama's and family, extravagant trips and vacations. He's enjoying the ride...hand-out after hand-out in spending, but not able to see the big picture or the future for this country. So, vote him back in...my vote is negating yours.

There is something we both agree on Japermom and that is the stance on disability and welfare. I agree with you that it is a problem that there are people on welfare and some on disability who could work but won't. I think people who abuse the system mostly go for welfare because it's much easier to get than disability. Disability often takes 1-2 years to get and sometimes requires a lawyer and the government pulls medical records. Welfare needs new rules such as requiring drug tests. I'd have no problem doing drug tests for my disability. I feel sorry for the children that are pulled into the families who are in a mess and won't work. Some, but not all, of them will likely take after their parents and do the same abuse of the system. It's wrong, I agree.

Hey Ted2521, I lost my job because of a democrat's (bill c) NAFTA. I have also said that I do not have a problem supporting the elderly, disabled (not for drugs or alcohol). I have a huge problem with lazy able-bodied folks that soak our welfare program, and have more babies to get a larger check. Your beloved Obama perpetuates this, and has taken away a work requirement. I believe he did this to stack votes in his favor. I am not better off with Obama in office. Now, if he got Obamacare out of the control of greedy profit making insurance companies where that money would be paying more toward medical expenses, I wouldn't be so opposed. He also fails in many other categories. Sorry, I hope and pray Mitt/Ryan win.

Hey Sebastian -- I'm on disability too, so I guess I'm a POS? How dare you call people on disability POS when you don't know them! I have many health problems, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. These two conditions have been very disabling. Plus, the severe fatigue, pain, and brain fog that comes with it. If you had these you would understand. "Symptoms present in various degrees of severity depending on the patient. POTS can be severely debilitating. Some patients are unable to attend school or work, and especially severe cases can completely incapacitate the patient." I saw these comments in the site comments list with the latest comments and it pissed me off. Go educate yourself on the many diseases out there that can disable a person. You think I like being disabled??? You and Obsessed are idiots.

can't help but chime in. i too find some of these comments offensive, in particular sebastians and obsessed's comments. i know someone who is very ill on disability. i have reported some of these comments. i know one thing ted, sebastian and obsessed would be too wimpy to say that to your face. just remember people sit on the internet and act tough, but in real life are total wimps. i usually never post, but couldn't believe people would be so heartless to someone disabled. there are people out there that do care and understand ted.

Yeah, I would love to work but am disabled, so that makes me lazy. *sarcasm* I would love to drive and have the freedoms I use to, but can't. I HATE being disabled and yet people behind a keyboard call me a POS? You must have no morals Sebastian. Come say that to my face. Sebastian, you're the typical Republican who only cares about yourself and not others. The Republicans are the greatest danger this country has ever faced. They are out to destroy the lives of the working class, the poor, the elderly, and hand over this country to the corporations and the Chinese. Romney loves handing jobs over to China. Go check his record. Republicans are intolerant, jesus freaks, gun crazy, big business tycoons, who are selfish and greedy. So Sebastian, you're the POS here. Apparently 5 people support me because I have 5 votes on my old post below. Jeez Sebastian, you moron...

Also, show me the 99.99% evidence. Did you pull that "stat" out of the air? I can think of many conditions where a person would need disability. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to afford long-term disability insurance. MS, Parkinson's Disease, CFS, heart disease, end-stage renal disease, etc etc you probably don't get the point...

Once again, I can't drive a car, therefore can't sit long. I lay most of the day and sit for very short periods. I find it amazing how people try to judge over the internet when they don't even know a person. I didn't have money for long-term disability insurance when I worked. I had enough bills from utility, to rent, to car and car insurance, gas, health care insurance premiums, copays, food, etc. I was pretty tight and was at a desk job making $23,000 a year. It's so easy to judge others. Judge others and you shall be judged. I said this earlier, I hated to go on disability, but had no choice. You don't know my health problems and have the attitude of a typical snobby Republican.

dbone is right. When the whole system goes broke, and it will, people like ted will have to depend on the kindness of others. Those people largely will be those evil, productive plan-ahead republicans/conservatives.
