Good job all the way around. Patience was expected in the beginning. Then when time dragged on they knew they had to get that child away from the sicko. They did. The sicko is dead. But he asked for it. He wanted it that way, it seems. And the child is safe and secure back home with his family. It's a shame anyone had to die and I'm sure glad it wasn't the little child. Thank you God.

Im not sorry they killed the freak! He shot and killed an innocent person and completely tortured this little boy and his family with this hostage situation! If he would have come out of the bunker alive thousands and thousands of $$ would be wasted on him housing him in prison and all the fruit cake defense attourneys would be coming out of the wood work so they could "defend" this creep!!! and get their five minutes of fame!! Whats the point! He took a life.

They say in the national news the kid has mild asperger's syndrome, but now he will go down in history as a "special needs" (short bus) kid thanks to the media.

Thank goodness the boy is safe even though he will be scarred for life over this ordeal. I will not say I am sorry the man was killed after the torment he put everyone through. WILSON YOU ARE A NUT JOB! What the hell does watching American Idol and Super Bowl have to do with any of this?

Wilson's probably another "slightly touched" person. Glad the little boy has been rescued. Sorry the older gentleman was killed, but he left them no choice. He definately was suffering from a mental condition that no one wanted to deal with. We need to take better care of our veterans!

Kudos to law enforcement for finally being proactive in handling this situation. In my opinion, JLD was pure evil. Bless this young boy, his family & friends.
