Middletown Police now believe a severed human foot, found by two fisherman along the Great Miami River on Monday, is a missing body part from a person who committed suicide in Miamisburg a few weeks ago.

Officers say the men were fishing Monday at 3 p.m. when they found the foot along the east bank of the river just north of the Germantown Rd. Bridge.  It was lodged in some debris.

Police searched the area for additional body parts last night and today but, they have stopped searching and now plan to take the foot to the Montgomery County Coroner's office tomorrow to try and match it to the suicide case.

The person who committed suicide did so by running out in front of a train on a railroad trestle over the Great Miami River, some 13 and a half miles upriver from Middletown.
