A Milford man is dead following a crash on an interstate ramp in Montgomery.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. Thursday on the northbound ramp to I-71 to eastbound I-275 in Montgomery.

22 year old Ryan Melton of Milford went off the ramp and hit a culvert.  Officers had a difficult time locating the vehicle but once they did, they realized Melton died in the crash.

The Hamilton County Coroner was called to the scene and firefighters pried the doors off the car using the "jaws of life" and removed Melton's body.

The Hamilton County Coroner's Office, through routine toxicology tests, will determine if alcohol and or drugs were a contributing factor in the crash.

The ramp opened around 8:20 a.m.

Very unfortunate. I hate to make assumptions, but I get this sense that it was drug/alcohol related.

dcreis...you make a good point, especially since the rear license plate is visible. Would not be too difficult for loved ones to recognize the make/model of car and the license plate to figure it out.

Just a question - if the name of the person(s) involved in the crash are not released pending notification of the family, why do you show the vehicle in your release? You could show a picture of the area where the accident occurred but leave out any other identifying information until families have been notified. Seems like the right thing to do especially if someone tragically lost their life in the accident. Just a thought!
