An escaped Warren County inmate is back behind bars.
Arlie Gilbert escaped from the courthouse in Lebanon about 3:30 Thursday afternoon. He was being led from a court appearance to an awaiting prisoner transportation van.
Gilbert was found nearly four hours later after a tip led investigators to a nearby apartment complex. He surrendered without incident.
Police say he managed to remove his black and white prison shirt, and lost his jail issued flip-flops when he took off. He was also able to free himself from his handcuffs during the ordeal.
Gilbert was scheduled to appear in Warren County Court Thursday on three charges - a probation violation, underage consumption and an open container violation. He also was to appear in county court May 15 on a third-degree burglary charge. He now faces an additional charge of escape.
