Michelle Boutillette is a meteorologist and a part of the Precision Doppler 12 Weather Center. She is originally from Smithtown, NY, a town located on the north shore of Long Island.
Michelle knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a meteorologist. After experiencing first-hand several devastating hurricanes and Nor’easters on Long Island, combined with a love for math and science, she decided to pursue a degree in meteorology from Penn State University.
While earning her degree, Michelle interned in the weather department at WABC-TV in New York City. Shortly after graduation, she then worked at WWOR-TV, the UPN affiliate in New York City as a weather producer. Michelle got her first break into the world of on-air work with a job at KLBK-TV, the CBS affiliate in Lubbock, TX. She spent over two years in West Texas forecasting and covering dust storms, tornadoes, and hail storms.
Michelle is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), an accreditation awarded by the American Meteorological Society. The CBM supersedes the AMS Seal of Approval and requires successful completion of a comprehensive examination on atmospheric science.
You can catch Michelle's forecast each weekday on Local 12 First at Four and Local 12 at 10pm on Local 12.2, the CW Cincinnati. If you have a weather-related question or photo to share, e-mail her at michelle@wkrc.com.
