Kit Andrews, a native of Seattle, WA, first came to Cincinnati in April 1981. She is currently the LOCAL 12 Anchor at 6:00 and 11:00 p.m.

Kit is a graduate of Washington State University where she earned a BA in Communications and a Minor in History. While in college, Kit attended the University of London for one semester in 1977.

Kit’s interest in reporting began when she volunteered as an announcer at WSU’s campus radio stations, KUGR and KWSU. Then in 1978, she worked as a videotape librarian at KIRO-TV in Seattle, WA. After that, Kit was hired as a reporter/producer/anchor by KHQ-TV in Spokane, WA. It was here that she gained most of her on-air experience. Kit then relocated to Cincinnati.

Kit spends her spare time with her husband, Mike; sons, Jake and Gus; and daughter, Maddy. She also enjoys running, reading, and keeping up with her children.

Rob Braun’s appearance on Cincinnati television was a surprise to no one, except maybe Rob, himself. Being the son of a show business family, everyone expected him to follow in family footsteps. Instead, Rob tended to shy away from it and he ended up owning a food concession business. He and his brother owned the business for 15 years working events such as Cincinnati’s River fest, county and state fairs, and Blue Grass Festivals. Rob also ran restaurants in Cincinnati and North Carolina. During this time Rob dabbled in acting an on-air commercial work. He soon found that the work he was doing was leading him to more on-air work, so he decided to give show biz a try.

Rob began his full-time news career in Knoxville, Tennessee at age 24. At WBIR he hosted a syndicated news-magazine show and also hosted the station’s live coverage of the 1982 World’s Fair. After the fair, Rob began to report news full-time as a General Assignment Reporter, and then was moved to anchor of the 5:30 news.

It was then that LOCAL 12’s News Director, Don North, beckoned Rob home to Cincinnati as General Assignment Reporter. In the fall of 1985, Rob became the weekend anchor for the 6:00 and 11:00 news.

In June of 1987 WKRC-TV introduced “Live at 7”, an innovative award winning newscast that was entertaining as well as informative, anchored by Rob. The show received several awards. Shortly thereafter, Rob assumed the responsibilities of anchoring the 5:30, 6:00, and 11:00p.m. newscasts. He currently works at the anchor for LOCAL12 at 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00. Rob is a multiple Emmy and Iris Award winner.

Rob spends his leisure time with his wife, Jennifer and their children Krista and Robert.

LOCAL 12 Anchor Dave Burchell first joined the LOCAL 12 Team in Cincinnati in 1990 as a weekday Reporter / weekend Anchor. Having attended Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio, it was a timely and most welcomed return home for Dave.

Dave also attended Westtown High School, a Quaker school in Westtown, Pennsylvania, Dean Junior College in Franklin, Massachusetts and Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. He received Dean’s List honors at each and achieved repeated inclusion in the prestigious Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges journal and Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges journal, majoring in Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism.

Within a very short time here at LOCAL 12, Dave managed to successfully lead the LOCAL 12 Weekend editions to a consistent number one showing in viewership.

With such strong editorial leadership, Dave quickly established himself as one of the premier personalities on the 12 News team and within one year was shifted to daytime news Anchor. Dave joined 12 News At Noon and 12 News At Five, both of which commanded strong, number one viewing among Greater Cincinnati households through 2006. Currently, Dave co-anchors LOCAL12 Live at 5:30 and LOCAL 12 News at 10 on My 64.

Dave, however, does not stop with TV News. He also anchors daily, hourly newscasts on our sister radio station 55KRC AM.

When afforded some free time, Dave obsessively enjoys golf, playing at a single digit handicap. He also enjoys competing in inter-league tennis, Cincinnati Recreation Commission league softball and volleyball, dabbles in a game of chess daily and vigorously trains at national tournament-level table tennis, currently ranked in the top 10 amongst all players in the state of Ohio.

Dave is married to Maria, and they each struggle to keep up with high-energy sons Diego, Sergio and Mateo.
