Volunteers Renovate Historic Amelia Cemetery

Updated: Friday, November 8 2013, 02:14 PM EST
AMELIA, Ohio (WKRC) -- Employees from Home Depot locations around the Tri-State pay a visit to a historic cemetery in Amelia. Adam Clements says their goal is to help renovate the Odd Fellows cemetery.

The cemetery is 200 years old and for the past 100 years, it's received very little maintenance. On Friday, nearly 100 volunteers spent their day off volunteering their time.

Today they're paving a walkway with 11,000 bricks. Next spring they'll return to build a war memorial with a wall and a giant American flag. A number of veterans, at least one dating back to the Revolutionary War, are buried there.

The Home Depot corporate office has donated $80 million to community projects all across the country.Volunteers Renovate Historic Amelia Cemetery
